Density:

Density refers to the amount of mass that a material possesses per unit volume. The typical density measurement used is the number of openings per inch which is commonly set at 60. This value offers an ideal balance between having large openings for cost-effectiveness and small enough openings to prevent bunching. Other commonly used density values include 48,60, 76, 100, and 130.

Technical Terminology Knitted Wire Mesh:
This innovative product is made using a circular knitting process that creates tubular sleeves of interlinked wire loops & giving it a unique two-way flexibility. This structure of interlocking wire loops offers numerous advantages in various industrial applications making it a popular choice across many industries.

Knitted wire mesh is available in a wide range of metals, making it a versatile solution for a variety of applications. It can be supplied in mesh rolls, rings, compressed elements, circular, rectangular pads more. No matter what your specific needs & our team can work with you to find the perfect solution.

Knitted metal wire mesh is a highly advantageous material due to its unique properties. Each loop of the mesh functions as a small spring that can withstand both tensile and compressive stress. This inherent resiliency allows the mesh to quickly regain its original shape once the stress is removed. Additionally, even when the mesh is compressed into various shapes, it maintains a high degree of resiliency & making it an ideal choice for a wide range of applications.

Principally Used Materials:

  • Stainless steel (300-400 series)
  • Nylon
  • Galvanised Iron
  • Copper
  • Tinned copper
  • Aluminum
  • Inconel
  • Monel
  • Hastelloy
  • Polypropylene

Mesh Diameter:

Mesh is typically created by knitting wires that range in diameter from 0.10mm to 0.30mm. These wires can be either round or flat and are commonly used in applications that require large surface areas of wire, such as air filtration and cleaning. When designing mesh, wire diameter is a critical variable as it impacts several factors, including flow, dirt holding capacity, pressure drop, and cost. Using a larger diameter wire typically results in a higher flow rate but a lower dirt holding capacity, as well as a lower cost. Therefore, balance must be struck when designing a filter either by using a higher density filter made of fine wire which is more expensive or a lower density filter made of heavy wire which is less expensive.
